going into winter is a challenge, I fill the same on no time, When you view exercising as when you first started it was exciting and fun the more you push yourself it gets harder and more burdensome. I try to balance my view on training easier and looking to find the joy in it, when you find joy you progress more long term. When I started cycling in July, I was riding and experiencing the surroundings, that was more exciting than pushing for miles , time and pushing athleticism. Bottom line, as being a non-professional you can just have fun.

Winter riding is tough with the lack of daylight. I bought a good bike light that makes riding much safer. Might be worth a try. Bad news is that you will have to clear that purchase with Laura. :-) hahaha

This is a record thread. to keep it going for a record and add Contrast to my first post. When reading Lances book "It's Not About the Bike" he contributes his success to working out harder than others, while others have entertaining times he was out early in the morning, training in the rain, training on Holidays, sacrificing relationships, training when it was very cold. Bottom line he found time to train hard when others took to the normal way of training. Plus he is genetically gifted.
